The BD Saf-T-Intima™ Safety System is designed to optimize subcutaneous therapy for patients and clinicians. Subcutaneous infusion therapy, also called hypodermoclysis, is widely used in therapies to support paediatric and geriatric patients, palliative care and post-operative pain relief. In certain clinical situations where IV access is not required, possible or practical, subcutaneous infusions can be a safe alternative.
Advanced shielding design
A telescoping needle shield passively covers the needle, helping protect clinicians from needlestick injuries.
All-in-one integrated system
Contains an integrated extension set, with a removable slide clamp.
Removable adapter
A removable PRN adapter allows the use of an ISO-compliant needleless connector.
Indicated for subcutaneous infusion in Canada
24G and 22G are indicated for subcutaneous use. Both are available in straight (single port) and y-adapter (dual port) configurations.
